God’s Gone!!

Help!! We cannot find God!!  We have a very big problem, you see, God is missing and we cannot find him, or so very many try to tell us.  King David at times in his life, when he looked to God; to his horror he discovered that God was not there, he looked far away, then close by, he looked left and looked right, up and down, and like a child lost from his parents in a large crowd, immediately cried out for a look at the “True God,” but there was just vast open expanses of nothingness in front of him.

Psalm 27:9 “Hide not thy face [far] from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.”  Psalm 69:17 “And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.”  Psalm 102:2 “Hide not thy face from me in the day [when] I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day [when] I call, answer me speedily.”  Psalm 143:7        “Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit [grave].”  Psalm 51:11 “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.”

Where are you God, because I need to see your face, I need the re-assurance that comes from you, Help!!  So King David was beat, “God was Gone,” he just could not see God anywhere out there.  Philosophers arise and try to convince us that “God is Dead,” or “God is an absentee, he just set things up and just walked away and left everything to their own devices,” or “God never ever existed in the first place,” which is interesting, on the point that they have just checked out everything and everywhere in the Expansive Universe, all at the same moment of time, covering all things visible and invisible and in every conceivable format, and God was missing, how so very interesting and so through of them.

1 Kings 19:11-13 “And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; [but] the LORD [was] not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; [but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake:  And after the earthquake a fire; [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.  And it was [so], when Elijah heard [it] that he wrapped his face in his mantle [Prayed], and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, [there came] a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?”

 

Ezekiel 3:12 “Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, [saying], Blessed [be] the glory of the LORD from his place.” Isaiah 30:21  “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”  Matthew 3:1-2 “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  

Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.”   Psalm 51:11 “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.”   It is interesting to note that the Hebrew term “Repentance” has the same connotation as “180 Degrees” or “About Turn – Quick March.”  So it is so simple, our sins and iniquity have somehow rotated us 180-Degrees, God never moved, and he never will, he is the great unchangeable and eternal one, “The Great – I Am,” we are the fickle and changeable ones that keep letting things and people, getting between us and “Our God,” and before we know it, “God is Gone.”   Well not actually gone, we have turned and got spun or turned about, and now God is there right behind us and just out of our view, Repent.

We so often need “Repentance” and to turn about, and there is God all along, we just let just about everything else get in the way, and now I’m coming home and back to God, Repentance.  Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.”   1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 Timothy 1:8-11 “But we know that the law [is] good, if a man use it lawfully;  knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,  for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;  according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”  

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.  Question; “Is God standing right behind you?” Then Repent!!
