Eraser

If you sat down one day, and went through your daily Diary, or Journal entries, and with a great big Eraser, started to rub-out all the bad things recorded there, how long before there would be just a book full of “Blank Pages” or just a few tiny bit of text of what you did right or overcame, here or there?  In your life, what would happen if you made no more “Bad Decisions” and that from now on, all that you ever did was kind, and good and uplifting?  What would your life look like, and what a wonderful life it would actually be like, to be living such a life?  Jeremiah 18:23 “Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay [me]: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal [thus] with them in the time of thine anger.”

Exodus 32:33 “And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.”  Psalm 51:1-10 “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.  Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is] ever before me.  Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest.  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.  Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden [part] thou shalt make me to know wisdom.  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.  Make me to hear joy and gladness; [that] the bones [which] thou hast broken may rejoice.  Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

Blot out mine iniquity, please God, quickly use your eraser on my sin and guilt, quickly remove it far from thee.  Question; But what would then be ever left remaining that was wholesome and good, what is there left remaining??  Galatians 6:7-8 {MSG} “Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God.  What a person plants, he will harvest.  The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others – ignoring God! – harvests a crop of weeds.  All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, Eternal Life.”  “What you sow you Grow.”  What would your “Record of your life” look like if “God’s Eraser” got going, and all your sins, failings and short comings were “Erased,” all those “Character Faults” were removed, so what would ever be left in your life?  Would almost everything be removed, or just the odd tiny nasty wee blemish here or there?  Would we need a minor “Renovation” or is there actually now just nothing to even start with, just a pile of weeds, rubbish and un-related litter, that we should call in the heavy machinery and scrape the ground clean and flat, dump all the rubbish into the dump trucks and haul it away, leaving a “Blank Canvas,” so where do we start, from nothing, and still at the very beginning, as nothing productive has been achieved, or do we just need a little touch up here or there to be Perfect as there was miniscule to Erase?

1 Corinthians 3:9-17 “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, [ye are] God’s building.  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.”

Question; what does the “Record of your Life” really look like?  How much is not fit for viewing, and how much is recording your goodness, kindness, compassion and overcoming?  If all the nasty thoughts, words and deeds, were erased, covered with white-out or Twink, or better still, never ever said or done in the first place, what would the record of your life actually look like?  Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”  To adaptively Quote Daniel 5:27 “TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.”  I God have Erased all your Sins and Failings, and I have found nothing left written down.  You have failed to achieve anything, so I have rejected you as faulty.  Let us always write the record of our lives so that nothing ever needs God’s “Eraser.”
