Marinaded for Jesus

The greatest manifestation of God’s glory, is when God’s people are saturated and infused with God’s love, especially as we live in these last few years of this earth’s existence.  Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”  Acts 2:1-4 “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues (Languages), as the Spirit gave them utterance.”  And when they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, they were full to the maximum, spilling over, dribbling all over the place, “Marinaded” in the Holy Spirit.  But how?  The only way that you can fill something, is that first you must “empty” it, the disciples were of “one accord” meaning that they had emptied themselves of all their pride, sin, self-importance and domination, they were now fit and empty vessels, cleansed of their sinful nature, dedicated to their Master and their very recently crucified and resurrected Saviour, now the spirit flooded in, Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”  Psalm 23:5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

Quote; “The acceptance of Christ gives value to the human being. His sacrifice carries life and light to all who take Christ as their personal Saviour. The love of God through Jesus Christ is shed abroad in the heart of every member of His body, carrying with it the vitality of the law of God the Father. Thus God may dwell with man, and man may dwell with God. Paul declared, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).  {1SM 299}  John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”  1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”  Quote; “Since righteousness is love, let’s ask the question, “What is the love of Christ in relation to the Law?”  When the Holy Spirit imparts Christ’s Love to the believer in “Justification by Faith,” that imparted love puts the believer in a position to fulfill the law (Romans 13:10. “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.”)- Lowell Scarbrough.

So are you and I “Marinaded for Jesus,” infused with his love and character into every pore of our very being?  Acts 17:27-28 “That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:  for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”  Why do we not experience this “for in him we live, and move, and have our being?”  Maybe we are afraid of having to give up our Pet and Darling sins?  Are you frightened of what God will find secreted away in those dark hidden recesses of our lives?  Too late, God already knows them, he sees everything, even our thoughts and the intent of our heart, which is very wicked, but this can all be changed with a discarding and rejecting of evil thoughts deeds and actions, and then we experience our forever being “Marinaded in Jesus.”

God knows intimately your every secret and public sins and failings, those weaknesses, those besetting temptations and sins, yet he loves you so much that if you were the only person in the Universe to ever sin, God would still have sent his only son to Calvary, just for you and you alone, that is how deep and wide his love is for you.  Just like soaking in a Hot Bath to ease those sore muscles, then why not soak in the Love of God as found in Christ Jesus, and just soak away the pain and hurt from our disobedience and sin.  Let us regularly, if not all the time be “Marinaded in Jesus.”  The Philosopher has said, “You may well be the only Gospel that people ever read,” so how well do you and I represent Heaven?  We can so easily fall into this, 2 Timothy 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”  Empty cans make the most noise, and are at their weakest, so let us be filled, Romans 8:39 “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  We can be so filled with the Love of God, Spirit soaked, that we continually dribble and spill the “Love of God” everywhere we go, just like a child trying to spread Peanut Butter, they just get it somehow on everything, so let us be contagious Christians, “Marinaded in Jesus,” just dribbling the Love of God, everywhere we go and spilling it onto everything remotely near us.  Let us soak up all we can of heavenly, leaving no space for earthy sinfulness, let us always be, “Marinaded for Jesus.”
