I choose to be!

The Philosophers tell us that there are basically only two types of people in this world, the Givers and the Takers, so which one are you?  I choose to be the patch that fills in the pothole that is blemishing the smooth road of life, thus making the road for those who will travel behind me so much smoother and safer to travel.  I choose to be the bandage that binds up the wounds of the hurt, afflicted and wounded.  I choose to be the sunburn cream that cools, sooths and heals the burning of those who were caught out from being out too long in the hot sun.  I choose to be the sticky plaster to cover the skinned knee and the kiss that makes it all better.  I choose to be the surgical suture that pulls the wound edges together and holds them close until the healing is completed.  I choose to be the cup of cool water for the thirsty traveler.  I choose to be the shelter and safe place for the lost, the homeless, the traveler, the distressed, and the oppressed.  I choose to be the food for the hungry and the starving.  I choose to be the “Spiritual Food” to those I meet who are hungering and thirsting after righteousness.  I choose to be reflecting Jesus in everything I do, say, or think, so “I choose to be.”

I choose to be the “Lighthouse” to warn others of the rocks and shallows of life, which would sink the unwarned.  I choose to be the “Ambulance” that carries the sick, suffering and afflicted to all the healing that is available in Jesus Christ.  I choose to be the “Good news of Salvation,” to those lost in sin and degradation.  I choose to be the “Sign Post” to those who travel the highways and byways of life, to show them the very best paths to travel.  I choose to be the very best I can be, and by growing in “Grace and knowledge and understanding,” I choose to be even better tomorrow, by continually learning from Jesus.

Matthew 25:40-46 ERV “Then the king will answer, ‘The truth is this, anything you did for any of my people here, you also did for me.’ “Then the king will say to the evil people on his left, ‘Get away from me. God has already decided that you will be punished. Go into the fire that burns forever—the fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels. You must go away because when I was hungry, you gave me nothing to eat. When I was thirsty, you gave me nothing to drink. When I had no place to stay, you did not welcome me into your home. When I was without clothes, you gave me nothing to wear. When I was sick and in prison, you did not care for me.’ “Then those people will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty? When did we see you without a place to stay? Or when did we see you without clothes or sick or in prison? When did we see any of this and not help you?’ “The king will answer, ‘The truth is, anything you refused to do for any of my people here, you refused to do for me.’ “Then these evil people will go away to be punished forever. But the godly people will go on and enjoy eternal life.”

Matthew 5:42-48 “Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? Do not even the publicans so?  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

Quote; “Why, then, should we accept the unstable words of men as exalted wisdom, when a greater, a certain wisdom is at our command?  That which I have seen of eternal things, and that which I have seen of the weakness of men, as God has presented it before me, has deeply impressed my mind and influenced my life and character. I see nothing wherein man should be exalted or praised or glorified. I see no reason why the opinions of worldly-wise men should be trusted in and exalted. How can those who are destitute of divine enlightenment have correct ideas of God’s plans and ways?  I am willing to be taught by Him who created the heavens and the earth, by Him who set the stars in their order in the firmament and appointed the sun and the moon to do their work. I need not go to infidel authors. I choose to be taught of God.”  {8T 310}Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”  Do we give God and “The Christian Walk,” “Lip Service” Mark 7:6-8a “He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me.  Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.  For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men.”  Who or What has the major influence in your life?  Let us put God, First, Last and Best in everything, so “I need to be….” So what did you just choose to be?  Choices choices, the paths you now walk are the proof and evidence of your choices, but “I choose to be…”
