Ambassadors for Jesus

I was listening to a DVD Sermon the other day, and a thought has got stuck in my mind, and I need to share this thought with you.  Let us quote 2 Corinthians 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”  Please do not gloss over it, as we so often speed read our way through things, but let us examine this slowly and in detail.

So we have Ambassadors, for Jesus, got that, next.  Stop; who are the Ambassadors?  Well that is some Government Representative, Politician type, Consulate Executive, yes; one of those dignitary type people you see on TV, next.  Please read who holds this high executive position, representing God’s Government, to Nations and Tongues and Peoples? It clearly states “then we are,” and that means you my dear reader, you are an Ambassador, a representative of the Government of Heaven;  God said it, I believe it, and that settles it for me.

Now that we are all in a state of shock, what actually is an Ambassador? So let us ask Wikipedia.

“An ambassador is an official envoy, especially a highest ranking diplomat who represents a state and is usually accredited to another sovereign state, or to an international organization as the resident representative of their own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment.[1] The word is also often used more liberally for persons who are known, without national appointment, to represent certain professions, activities and fields of endeavor.

As formally defined and recognized at the Congress of Vienna (1815), ambassadors were originally regarded as personal representatives of their country’s chief executive rather than of the whole country, and their rank entitled them to meet personally with the head of state of the host country. Since 1945, all nations have been recognized as equals, and ambassadors or their equivalents are sent to all countries with which diplomatic relations are maintained. Before the development of modern communications, ambassadors were entrusted with extensive powers; they have since been reduced to spokespeople for their foreign offices.”

So from this we discover what an Ambassador actually is, “An ambassador is an official envoy, especially a highest ranking diplomat who represents a state and is usually accredited to another sovereign state.”  So Jesus is, as stated in Revelation 17:14 “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.”

So if you belong to “King Jesus” and you do not live in the same country with Jesus, then you must therefore be in a Foreign Country, as that is then the case, then we are the Representatives of Heaven – Ambassadors of Heaven here on Earth, which is currently under Foreign Government control.  Jesus calls us his Ambassadors, or his representatives, so how well do we represent, or do we look and act more like the people living in this domain, under Satan’s Rulership (but not for much longer) than we do as Christians, who are Citizens of Heaven.

Now an Ambassador is a clone/duplicate of the Government Ruler they represent.  They dress, talk, behave and are exactly like their King would act, dress, or behave if the actual King were present.  You never see and Ambassador in a Borat, Scruffy Jeans/Tea Shirt, bare chested, or if the Ambassador is Female, miniskirted, plunging necklines, dressed like they just forgot to put their dress on as they are sort of more like they are wearing their under garments currently out in general public, and only partially dressed, and that is not very representative of Heaven, dressed immodestly like this.  Just look at our Queen and other Royalty, always perfectly attired and representing their Government well.  Any shady photo’s come from extremely sophisticated camera-lens sets to see them a kilometre or so away in their Private relaxation mode.  An Ambassador is therefore a representative of a Country and their Monarchy.

In any discussions, the Ambassador will only speak the words of their ruler, that their ruler has given them to speak, never ever their own, nor do they ever have an opinion on any matter discussed. John 12:49-50 “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.  And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”

John 14:10 “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”

Matthew 10:20  “For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.”

John 8:28 “Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.”

Jesus was an Ambassador for God the Father, so we are called to be representatives or Ambassadors for Jesus Christ, and to continue that for Eternity.  Revelation 14:4 “These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, [being] the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.”

“You are an ambassador for Christ; and you should encourage those under your charge to seek for higher spiritual attainments, to live holier and purer lives. In your efforts to save souls from perdition and to build up the church in truth and righteousness, you should use tact, wisdom, and the power that it is your privilege to have through constant communion with God. God requires this of you and of every other minister engaged in His work. You should show your loyalty to your crucified Redeemer by acting as though you realized that you have a solemn charge to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus, wanting in nothing.”  {5T 371}

Dear Reader, do you, do I have some things to change in our speech, dress, mannerisms, and interaction with everybody?  Today is the day to start on a new pathway as an Ambassador of Heaven
