Patience – Pain

Patience is an interesting word, so often found in various places in the Bible, and Strongs has a little list of variations for us, 3114,  5281,  3115,  but 5281 is the most widely used version. 3114 = to be long spirited, Patient or bear (suffer) long or longsuffering, Forbearing, Leniently.  3115 – Forbearance, Fortitude, Longsuffering.  5281 – Cheerful, Hopeful, endurance, Constancy, Patient Continuance (Waiting).  The same Greek Word is used with a Medical connotation, for a Medical Doctor has “Patience.”  Yes the Doctor has “Patience” in daily having to listen to everybody’s Trials, Woes and gripes, but also the “Patient” is there because of their individual “Pain and Discomfort,” eagerly longing for that quick relief from their afflictions.

Romans 5:1-5 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations [Pain] also: knowing that tribulation [Pain] worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope:  and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”  Here the key phrase is “tribulation worketh patience”  for when you are being oppressed, Justly in that you did wrong, or Unjustly in that you were being harassed, the Pain delivered is developing in you more Patience.

James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing [this], that the trying of your faith [Pain] worketh patience.  But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”    1 Peter 3:13-18 “And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?  But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:  Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.  For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.  For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:”

Patience or Pain, is a concept that we do not usually connect with or talk about.  If somebody is displaying “Bad Behaviour,” we can cause them “Pain” by embarrassing them for their “Bad Behaviour,” and then the “Gossip Mill” will churn out masses of gossip as to how unfairly that they were mistreated for their actions.  This “Pain” goes from person to person and is often repeated time and again and sometimes for generations.  Instead, if you  exhibit “Patience – Pain” then you are the only one pained, you held it back inside you, it was never repeated, your prayer of “Forgiveness” on their behalf, strengthens your character, and the “Healing Balm of Gilead” sooths your soul.  Your “Patience – Pain Blocking” has strengthened your soul, and stopped a multitude of evils.

Back to 1 Peter; “For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”  So, is your “Patience – Pain” coming from you receiving “your just deserts” for your sins and mistakes, or are you being picked on and harassed for your just and perfect life, and like Jesus Christ, you turned the other cheek, then you have suffered for your well doing?  Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”  John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”  Matthew  4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

The True Believers of GOD that safely Exodus Planet Earth, are listed as having bounded over three critical hurdles, “patience of the saints,” “keep the commandments of God,” and live by “every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”  For when the righteous stand, the wicked will harass and oppress them, as their wicked deeds and lifestyle are brightly illuminated, so they oppress the righteous and cause them Patience – Pain, which instead actually strengthens the Believer, develops even more “Patience” and in so doing they draw even closer to Christ Jesus our Saviour, and then they are much more like Jesus in Character and Being.  James 5:7-8” Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”

Dear Reader; Our “Patience – Pain” is something that builds up our character and is our strong inner strength.  Invariably all the people that you know who are very strong, have all suffered much, and often very deeply, you would never wish to walk in their steps, but their wonderful compassion and tenderness makes them perfect duplicates of Jesus Christ and we so much enjoy being in their presence.  Jesus Christ has walked the road before us, walked through Gethsemane, so if you have a Gethsemane Garden to walk through, have Patience, and you will eventually walk in the Gardens of Paradise so very shortly, when Jesus comes for his children, who all look just like him, full of Patience.
