Consumed in the Fire

There are so many conflagrations, firestorms, house fires, business fires, and where anything and including about everything within is ‘Consumed in the Fire.’  Leviticus 21:9 “And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.” Now in a ‘Spiritual Application’ every single person has God as their Heavenly Father, now God is also the ultimate ‘High Priest’ so in this form, anybody who defiles themselves, has placed themselves in the position of having to be consumed by fire.  Luke 3:38 “Which was [the son] of Enos, which was [the son] of Seth, which was [the son] of Adam, which was [the son] of God.”  Malachi 4:3 “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], saith the LORD of hosts.”  Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord,” and in this context, that is death by instant incineration.

Zechariah 14:12 “And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.”  In a mere flash, in micro-seconds the wicked are ‘Consumed in the fire’ and are consumed so quickly that they do not even have time to fall over, just instant combustion, instantly turned to ashes, just like Lot’s Wife.  Genesis 19:26 “But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” Salt in this verse is Strongs [4417] which gives us the concept of salt, powder, dust or even ash.  Matthew 5:13 “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”  Here is another connection between salt and being walked upon, Malachi 4:3 “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], saith the LORD of hosts.”

Ash is something that is good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under men’s feet, but some debate for and against spreading it upon the gardens and fields and calling it ‘Fertilizer.’  Ash is the end product of combustion, the final end, that which can burn no longer, so the fire has ultimately consumed totally everything, so we just have the waste or end of fire, ‘Ash.’  Genesis “13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it [was] well-watered everywhere, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, [even] as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.”  Genesis 19:28 “And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.”  Mark 6:11 “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.”    Luke 17:29 “But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.”  2 Peter 2:6 “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned [them] with an overthrow, making [them] an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;” Jude 1:7 “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Jude uses the words ‘Eternal Fire,’ to depict a full and final consumption, nothing but ash, powder and dust left behind.  If he meant that the fire is still burning furiously like a furnace thousands of years later, then why do we not plop boiler tubes into the furnace fire and make steam from the free heat and run turbines for free electricity and free hot water?  Well the furnace fire quickly turned buildings, people, material possessions and everything to dust, ash, salt, non-combustible material, now it is fertilizer for the fields to be trodden under foot, plowed and crops to be planted upon it.

Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”  Now Tradition teaches us that where Satan, the Devil and his angels live, then there is “Hell,” which therefore means it to be the ‘Whole Earth,’ and then hell in the Hebrew mindset is ‘the grave or the cemetery.’  That is why this verse in Malachi makes perfect and logical sense, all is consumed in moments, nothing is left behind but salt, ash and dust.  Malachi 4:3 “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], saith the LORD of hosts.”  Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  From dust to living people, then back to dust/ash for those outside of God, who follow anything and everything else.

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”  Peter warns us that the ‘Wages of Sin’ is furnace fervent heat, consumed in a moment, becoming dust, salt or ashes.  Repentance and forsaking sin is certainly way better than being ‘Consumed in the Fire’ that purifies the new earth, turning to ashes everything, thus preparing for; 2 Peter 3:13 “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”  Are you repentantly consumed by the fire of the passion and love of God, or will your sins and unrighteousness cause you to be “Consumed in the Fire?” 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”  What is of sin, will be “Consumed in the Fire,” turned to ashes, salt, dust, to be trodden under the feet of the redeemed, do want to walk or to be walked upon?
