Judge Not

Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”  Matthew 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”  Here in our picture, we have of that wee toy wooden puppet, that became a real boy, Pinocchio, and in his hand is an apple.  Question; Is it his lunch, is it a gift to his Teacher, is it a gift to someone else, is it stolen, has he just picked it off a tree, is he about to throw it, even at somebody, is it rotten so needs to be thrown into the bushes, has he just caught it as it was thrown to him to catch it, is he picking it to eat himself, or to give to somebody else, to add to a basket and to take home to be made into apple pie for supper, for a pie to be given away to a hungry and needy family?  Questions, Questions.  Which of these judgements is correct, and which are plain ‘red herrings’ and suppositions, what is biased or derogatory, scandalous, encouraging or what is even the pure truth?

“Need more input,” truth and accurate fact is urgently need, or to be able to actually observe, in an un-biased way, the event of what transpired before and to watch the ending, or to get a reputed and trusted witness who gives us a creditable and accurate account of what actually transpired.  Question; if a giant tree fell over in the middle of a deserted forest, in the middle of a huge thunder storm, did it even make any sound?  Prove it!!  Not fair, “Need more input,” we can assume, but that can be dangerous, assume means” Ass-U-Me,” either or neither of us could have it right, one of us could just end up being a donkey.  2 Timothy 4:1 “I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;” Romans 14:10-11 “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.  For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”  Matthew 7:1a “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”  As the old Proverb goes, ‘Don’t judge a man until you have walked a mile in his moccasins.’

We observe people who are so quick to judge and to condemn, ‘accusers of the brethren’ to borrow a charge leveled at Satan himself, they are simply just accusers, mockers, posters on social media, gossipers, and Peter in his letter tells us that these do not ever inherit Heaven or Eternity, 2 Peter 3:11 “[Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness,” so we should be encouragers and trainers in the paths of righteousness, and to clearly represent to God and to Man by our pure speech and undefiled ways, that we are living Heaven right here on earth, by faithfulness, even before the reality is observed, revealed and the reality is to be actually and fully experienced.  1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”  Matthew 25:40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.”  Do you really want to post that statement, give them that ear full, smite, strike by thoughts, deeds or actions, and then to discover in the end, that you had done it actually to Jesus Christ in actuality and reality?  Matthew 5:40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.”

Back to our opening verses; Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”  Matthew 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”  In the final weigh in, we will all have to account for every thought, deed and action, and for the consequences of those thoughtless thoughts, deeds and actions, for the damage, or the great good that they have created, and then our final destiny will be known by how we lived.  Matthew 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”  Galatians 6:7-8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”      Matthew 7:3-5 “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?  Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?  Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”  In this story, the one judging, accusing, old bossy boots, is hugely more in error, coming up well short, falling short of the glory of God, than the poor chap with the mote in his eye, probably a couple of blinks, a tear and a wipe, and they are perfect again, but is accuser still has a telegraph pole stuck in his eye, being biased and ‘one eyed,’ and of much greater error.  Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”  Matthew 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”  What ‘Judgement’ are you creating to be delivered for or against you??
