Darling Sins

Why is it that everybody else has “Glaring Sins,” but us, oh we are just fine, we are doing so well, nothing wrong here, just faults in everybody else, me, oh they are just so tiny and small, nothing to worry about, but yours are huge, mine are just “Darling Sins.”  How come your ‘Pet Sins,’ are fine, but totally wrong if someone else is sinning in that very same way, fine for me but wrong for them.  Matthew 7:1-5 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.  And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?  Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?  Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Quote; “”Reprove, rebuke, exhort,” the Lord says, “with all long-suffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2. Deal faithfully with wrongdoing. Warn every soul that is in danger. Leave none to deceive themselves. Call sin by its right name.” {DA 806} Quote; “The greatest want of the world is the want of men–men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.” {Ed 57} Romans 6:14-16 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law [of Sin], but under grace.  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”  That is “From their Sins” and not “In their sinning.”  Ecclesiastes 10:1 “Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: [so doth] a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom [and] honour.”  “Darling Sin” is anything but a full committed relationship with God, that concept of a pure and true, devoted marriage relationship. Psalm 91:9-14 “Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most-High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.  They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.”  Luke 3:4-6 “As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.  Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways [shall be] made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”  Matthew 3:1 “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  Matthew 3:7-8 “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:” No more sin, sinning, especially ‘Darling Sins.’  Acts 2:37-38 “Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”  Hebrews 11:24-26 “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.”  Moses clearly saw that “Darling Sin,” “pleasures of sin” anything other than purity, was sin.  Quote; ‘The greatest want of the world is the want of men, –men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall,” (Ed. 57) It is a sin to call out sin in others and yet to overlook the “Darling Sin” in our own lives we need a much stronger and a much closer relationship with Jesus Christ, a relationship where we become, “men who do not fear to call sin by its right name,” who can call sin to be sin, for sin will always be sin.  We need to live unto “Salvation,” Romans 6:14a “For sin shall not have dominion over you:”  That means any and all sin, pet sin, wicked sin, daring sin, as well as “Darling Sin.”  Revelation 12:11 ERV “They defeated him [sin and Satan] by the blood sacrifice of the Lamb and by the message of God that they told people. They did not love their lives too much. They were not afraid of death.”  Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Romans 6:14a “For sin shall not have dominion over you:” Is it not time to now start calling sin by its right name, to repent of “Daring Sin” as well as “Darling Sin?”
