Lost Your Savor?

Are you and I already lost, or have we just simply slipped, dozed off, become complacent, for we can so easily become lukewarm, passive, and like useless salt, for thence we have ‘Lost your savor,’ you have now gone off the boil, have no earthly use at all but to be thrown out as dust and ashes, to be trodden under foot, garbage.  Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Matthew 5:13 “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”  Why be cast aside as dust and ashes, when we should have been converted, redeemed, renewed, when we actually ‘Repent in Dust and Ashes,’ or the other choice is to be used as road gravel, to actually become Dust and Ashes, when amazing things are still available, only through God, for have you “Lost your Savor?”  Become dead in our trespasses and sins, “Have you lost your Savor Saviour and Redeemer?”

Jeremiah 5:1-8 “Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be [any] that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.  And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.  O LORD, [are] not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, [but] they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.  Therefore I said, Surely these [are] poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, [nor] the judgment of their God.  I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, [and] the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, [and] burst the bonds.  Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, [and] a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, [and] their backslidings are increased.  How shall I pardon thee for this? Thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by [them that are] no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.  They were [as] fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife.”  Israel had ‘Lost its Savor,’ and was much more of a liability than an asset, they desperately needed to ‘Repent in Dust and Ashes.’

Just like Sodom and Gomorrah, back then just a few righteous could save many, but they must keep their unique saltiness.  Back in Noah’s days they showed us how so many had lost their savor, and the inherited end result. Matthew 17:26 “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”  Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”  Jeremiah 9:4 “Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.”  Every man is a cheat, salt that is now of no use at all.  Jeremiah 11:15 “What hath my beloved to do in mine house, [seeing] she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? When thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.”  Matthew 15:8 “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me.”  Israel had lost its savor, it was not pure and salty, it was of no use at all, it was so like the sinful world, it was useless and could preserve and save absolutely nothing at all.  Salt was once used heavily long ago as the only way to preserve meat and vegetables, if not salted properly, the stores perished, and the family perished starving and frozen in the winter snowy cold, all because the salt had lost its savor, the stores had perished, now what was once good food is now only fit for the trash pile, it has become toxic, dangerous and deadly, so have you lost your uniqueness, your connection to God, your Holiness, your saltiness, have you “Lost your Savor,” and have become a deathly liability instead of a blessed asset.  Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”Not saved, gone off the boil, lost their way, become lukewarm, lost the unique and saving saltiness, useless now, have you “Lost your Savor?”  Quote; “In the ritual service, salt was added to every sacrifice. This, like the offering of incense, signified that only the righteousness of Christ could make the service acceptable to God. Referring to this practice, Jesus said, “Every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.” “Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.” All who would present themselves “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God” (Romans 12:1), must receive the saving salt, the righteousness of our Saviour. Then they become “the salt of the earth,” restraining evil among men, as salt preserves from corruption. Matthew 5:13. But if the salt has lost its savor; if there is only a profession of godliness, without the love of Christ, there is no power for good. The life can exert no saving influence upon the world. Your energy and efficiency in the upbuilding of My kingdom, Jesus says, depend upon your receiving of My Spirit. You must be partakers of My grace, in order to be a savor of life unto life. Then there will be no rivalry, no self-seeking, no desire for the highest place. You will have that love which seeks not her own, but another’s wealth.” {DA 439} “But if the salt has lost its savor, how can the families be salted? how can they be preserved from the corruptions and immorality that exist in this age?”  Quote; “All who would present themselves “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,” must receive the saving salt, the righteousness of our Saviour. Then they become “the salt of the earth,” restraining evil among men, as salt preserves from corruption. {SW, 19/12/1905}  Have you “Lost your Savor???”
