Above the Distractions

Quote; “Above the distractions of the earth He [God] sits enthroned; all things are open to His divine survey; and from His great and calm eternity He orders that which His providence sees best.  God does not propose to be called into account for His ways and works. It is for His glory to conceal His purposes now; but by and by they will be revealed in their true importance. But He has not concealed His great love, which lies at the foundation of all His dealings with His children.” {FLB 42} Many things can so easily distract us, deflecting our gaze away, so that we can so easily forget what or why we were here in the first place, so when you are up to your knees with Alligators, it is so very hard to remember that you were just sent here to drain the swamp.

When you are so deeply involved in things, up to your neck in things, not knowing which way is up, which way you are going, which way to go, all is distraction and confusion, God is still there, we all need to have less confidence in self, and a far greater confidence in the One who is mighty in counsel who knoweth the end from the beginning, “Above the distractions of the earth He sits enthroned; all things are open to His divine survey,” Isaiah 46:10 “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”  Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”  Psalm 23:4 ERV “Even if I walk through a valley as dark as the grave, I will not be afraid of any danger, because you are with me.  Your rod and staff comfort me.” “Above the distractions of the earth He sits enthroned; all things are open to His divine survey,” Romans 8:3 “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God is in control, the dread of today and our fears for tomorrow, none of which can overcome you, God is seated upon his throne, his seat is in the calm of eternity, your dust storms and waves and tides can never rise high enough to affect him nor to cloud his judgement, God is in control. Romans 8:37-39 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Habakkuk 2:20 “But the LORD [is] in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.”  1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].”  We need to be reminded that, “all things are open to His divine survey,” nothing can ever get passed God, everything he sees, and he cares about you personally, have we dug a hole for ourselves that God did not plan or approve of?  Repent, listen to his voice, come back to God, Proverbs 3:6 “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Many things can so easily distract us, deflect our gaze away, so that we can so easily forget what or why we were here in the first place, so when you are up to your knees with Alligators, it is so very hard to remember that you were just sent here to drain the swamp.

Luke 11:2-6 ERV Jesus said to the followers, “This is how you should pray: ‘Father, we pray that your name will always be kept holy. We pray that your kingdom will come. Give us the food we need for each day. Forgive our sins, just as we forgive everyone who has done wrong to us. And don’t let us be tempted.’”  Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”  “Above the distractions of the earth He [God] sits enthroned; all things are open to His divine survey; and from His great and calm eternity He orders that which His providence sees best.”  God knows best, he marks our tears, records our joy and sorrow, he is not distant and distracted, he is nigh unto you, he is keenly monitoring everything we are involved in, cheering and yelling encouragement at our achievements, and sorrowing when we stumble and slip, we just need to stay linked with Heaven via the Holy Spirit, with prayer and supplication, reading and studying scripture, to walk humbly with our God in obedience and faithfulness in all we do, say and think.    Life gives us the opportunity to know God fully, to form characters for us to be able to live with him in the purity of Heaven, or has distractions and cares of this life robbed us of the pleasure of living here for God as well as our eternity?  Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”  Jesus told of Five Foolish Bridesmaids, who came up short, wheat and tares, sheep and goats, grape branches that refused to grow and to fruit, and all missed out, many things can so easily distract us, deflect our gaze away, so that we can so easily forget what or why we were here in the first place, so when you are up to your knees with Alligators, it is so very hard to remember that you were just sent here to drain the swamp.  Quote; “Above the distractions of the earth He [God] sits enthroned; all things are open to His divine survey; and from His great and calm eternity He orders that which His providence sees best.  God does not propose to be called into account for His ways and works.
