The Hound Dog of Heaven

The crime has just been committed, and the perpetrator has just fled on foot, just slipped away into the darkness, they have just escaped the scene, but have they really, then along comes the police tracker dog, the scent trail is good, the twists and turns, back-tracks and are numerous, even hiding under the weeds growing on the banks of the stream, but they are tracked, the dog barks enthusiastically, and up out of the water they come, or out from the thicket and brush that they are vainly hiding within or under, desiring and seeking for cover and to be undetected, deep under the thorns and brambles, but then the wounds and the bleeding are often evidence of how hard they vainly try to hide, you can run you can hide but you can’t get away.  Mountain and snow rescue dogs, use their noses, and they can find the lost and the half frozen, even finding people under fresh avalanche snow.  If dead and buried, then cadaver dogs can often sniff out their burial site, the hidden often never stays hidden for long as it is always revealed, the lost are usually found, you can run you can hide but you can’t get away, God has got sniffer dogs hunting you in every way.

Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  Matthew 18:12-14 “How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.  Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.”  Just like ‘Mountain Rescue Dogs,’ God is ever seeking and saving ‘The Lost.’  Colossians 2:13 “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;” Romans 5:6-8 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Search and rescue teams never sit down at the first, just sitting there over a hot drink to discuss the pros and cons, the goodness or badness of a person, the type of weather outside, they are just instantly up and doing at the first call, and quickly just grab their pre-packaged gear, and head right on out, regardless of weather, every rescue is time critical, off to the search site, by car, boat, truck, helicopter or 4X4, this is very time critical, they hasten to make this another “Rescue,” as they do not like to find that delay has turned this into a “Body Retrieval.”  Revelation 13:8 [Adapted] “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”  Long before there was sin, God had a “Saviour” a search and rescue team, not a ‘body recovery’ team, just seeking and saving the lost, the sin sick and the perishing.  Please note the commitment here, “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”  Before there were even humans, before there was even sin, there was a “Search and Rescue Team” all set up in readiness, all prepared and ready at moment’s notice to ‘Rescue the perishing, care for the dying, Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.’  “The Hound Dog of Heaven,” has never lost yet, they have found all, those who reject and refuse the magnanimous gift of saving and rescue do actually unfortunately perish, God respects their choices, one can only rescue those whom allow you to rescue them, and those who choose and accept, then all are rescued, saved, healed and restored. Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”Joshua had seen more than enough of paths that lead away from God to perdition, he had often seen God’s hand rescue, God even protected those who were still fighting against God, but then they became willingly lost, but those who accepted rescue, made the smartest choice ever, and with eternal benefits as well.  Romans 5:8-10 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”  “The Hound dog of Heaven,” always tracks right up to your door, right to where you are, Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”  It is our individual choice to be rescued, even for us to reject and to perish. Ephesians 2:1-2 “And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins: wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”  Obedience leads to a successful rescue, but rejection of God will always have a Cadaver Dog locating a ‘Body Retrieval,’ so you get to choose, so what will it be when “The Hound Dog of Heaven,” knocks on the door of your heart??
