Morals

Such a big subject, but could we therefore find ourselves to being; “Amoral, Immoral, Moral, or just something whatever else?”  Amoral means – lacking a moral sense; unconcerned with the rightness or wrongness of something.  Immoral means – not conforming to accepted standards of morality.  But being ‘Moral’ means – concerned with the principles of right and wrong behaviour, holding or manifesting high and heavenly principles for proper conduct.  Now back to the Title, Moral means – concerned with the principles of right and wrong behaviour, holding or manifesting high principles for proper conduct.  This is where Right and Wrong, proper conduct, justice, ethics and such are kept to a very high standard of thoughts, deeds and actions.  One should never be swayed by ‘situational ethics,’ or ‘little white lies,’ morals trying to being adapted, morals are morals, sunshine is sunshine, right is right and that is forever right. Matthew 25:40b “Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.”  Now that is Jesus speaking, what you do to others you have actually done it unto him, personally, those hateful and nasty words, that act of aggression, that whatever.  But your moral and good deeds, as well as your evil and corrupted deeds, all have been done as if they were done unto Jesus himself as well.  Genesis 39:9 “[There is] none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou [art] his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  Joseph had high morals, no ‘situational ethics,’ Potiphar’s loss, my gain, a little commission, always the answer is ‘Never,’ right is always right and wrong will always be wrong, Morals are Morals under every and all circumstances, so “how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”.

With Potiphar away, Joseph was fully, ‘Head of the House,’ misses Potiphar was queen of the house, situational ethics states that this would be fine, but morals have a higher standard of accountability, you do not plow with another’s heifer, you do not mow another’s lawn, you do not drink from another’s cistern, thou shalt not steal, honour thy father and mother, thou shalt not covet, thou shalt not commit adultery, plow with your own heifer, mow your own lawn, drink from your own well and cistern.  “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  Morals are morals, sunshine is sunshine, right is right and that is forever right, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  Morals are morals forever.

Quote; “Do not see how close you can walk upon the brink of a precipice and be safe. Avoid the first approach to danger. The soul’s interests cannot be trifled with. Your capital is your character. Cherish it as you would a golden treasure. Moral purity, self-respect, a strong power of resistance, must be firmly and constantly cherished. There should not be one departure from reserve; one act of familiarity, for one indiscretion, may jeopardize the soul in opening the door to temptation, and the power of resistance becomes weakened. {AH 404}

Quote; What the church needs in these days of peril is an army of workers who, like Paul, have educated themselves for usefulness, who have a deep experience in the things of God, and who are filled with earnestness and zeal. Sanctified, self-sacrificing men are needed; men who will not shun trial and responsibility; men who are brave and true; men in whose hearts Christ is formed “the hope of glory,” and who with lips touched with holy fire will “preach the word.” For want of such workers the cause of God languishes, and fatal errors, like a deadly poison, taint the morals and blight the hopes of a large part of the human race.  {AA 507}

Quote; This is an age when corruption is teeming everywhere. The lust of the eye and corrupt passions are aroused by beholding and by reading. The heart is corrupted through the imagination. The mind takes pleasure in contemplating scenes which awaken the lower and baser passions. These vile images, seen through defiled imagination, corrupt the morals and prepare the deluded, infatuated beings to give loose rein to lustful passions. Then follows sins and crimes which drag beings formed in the image of God down to a level with the beasts, sinking them at last in perdition.  {AH 408}

Quote; “Faith in Christ as a personal Saviour will give strength and solidity to the character. Those who have genuine faith in Christ will be sober-minded, remembering that God’s eye is upon them, that the Judge of all men is weighing moral worth, that heavenly intelligences are watching to see what manner of character is being developed.  {CT 223}

Quote; “In every age the archenemy is adapting his temptations to the prejudices or inclinations of those whom he is seeking to deceive. In apostolic times he led the Jews to exalt the ceremonial law and reject Christ; at the present time he induces many professing Christians, under pretense of honoring Christ, to cast contempt on the moral law and to teach that its precepts may be transgressed with impunity. It is the duty of every servant of God to withstand firmly and decidedly these perverters of the faith and by the word of truth fearlessly to expose their errors.  {AA 387}  Remember; that morals have the highest standard of accountability, you do not plow with another’s heifer, you do not mow another’s lawn, you do not drink from another’s cistern, thou shalt not steal, honour thy father and mother, thou shalt not covet, thou shalt not commit adultery, plow with your own heifer, mow your own lawn, drink from your own well and cistern.  “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  Morals are morals, sunshine is sunshine, right is right and that is forever right, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  Morals are morals, and that runs into the forever.  Paul’s advice to the early church was simple, ‘plow with your own heifer, mow your own lawn, drink from your own well and cistern,’ now if you are single and very thirsty, then own another cistern, marry them, then the two of you will have ample to drink from, but above all; plow with your own heifer, mow your own lawn, and most definitely, drink from your own well and cistern.  Morals are morals, sunshine is sunshine, right is right and that is forever right, “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”  Remember; “Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
